our story
Founded in 1965 by Ken “Skip” Ailor during his time (without much competition) was the main tree service everyone called. Skip like many entrepreneurs at that era believed in working family first so he hired all five of his nephews. Child labor laws were a little loose back then. In the mid 90’s was passed down to his nephew Kenneth Gibson, a long time climber and foreman of the tree service who served Knoxville since the 70s. Ken worked hard and was true to keeping the honored tradition of above board customer service and exceptional work.
In 2018 Rodney Gibson took over The Tree Service and still continues to uphold the same time honored traditions that have made it was it is today. The Tree Service has been a staple in the Knoxville communities with their volunteer work, charitable donations the local schools, shriners and local churches. We have worked with local arborist groups in training and continue to educate our own crews in proper tree maintenance, health and theory.
We are a third generation family owned company. We have grown from our humble beginnings to two locations. One in North Knoxville and our new location in Campbell County.
